Qualifying from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1986, Sally's career began in Yorkshire as an associate dental surgeon in general practice. Becoming a dental practice owner in 1988, she moved to Tunbridge Wells when she married Peter in 1989.

At the same time as running her busy dental practice, she successfully completed a diploma in forensic odontology which has led to her providing her services to the Coroner's Office from time to time. She was also a member of the Kent Dental Advisory Committee and the West Kent Local Dental Committee, becoming vice-chairman in 1995.

On selling her practice in 2000, Sally worked as a clinical tutor at Guy's Dental Hospital in London, teaching undergraduates in the restorative department. In 2001, she joined Boots Dentalcare, becoming Senior Dentist and the Dentist Business Manager at the Tunbridge Wells branch. At the same time, she commenced a Masters degree in Law from Cardiff University, which she attained in July 2005.

When Boots made the decision to exit dentistry, Sally and her team simply decided to carry on: i-teeth dental care was born in March 2005.

Outside dentistry, Sally enjoys the company of her two children, skiing, cycling and playing the piano.
