Children

Children are born free of dental disease yet, by adulthood, 95% of the population has active gum disease and most people have experienced some tooth decay and even tooth loss.

Our aim is to completely prevent dental disease by providing care and advice which will allow your child to adopt good habits early on.

The first teeth appear at around six months old but, unless there's a problem, we would not usually regularly examine children until they are 24-36 months old. You may introduce your baby to the dentist by bringing them with you on your next check-up appointment - this will help your baby become familiar with the dentist and feel more comfortable when we count their teeth for the first time.

We will provide 2 routine examinations each year for the children (of our registered adult patients) aged under 5 years, free of charge. If they require treatment, the fees will be discounted by 50%.

For children aged 5 - 18 years, we offer the Child Dental Plan. Costing £5.00 per month, the plan will entitle your child to receive 2 routine dental examinations and radiographs (as required) each year. The costs of additional examinations, hygiene treatment or fillings will be discounted by 50% and sports mouthguards will be discounted by 15%.
